I don’t get it. You still have to take the 240v that comes out of the microinverter and transform/rectify it to charging voltage for the batteries. So the microinverter just adds another 8% loss to the system, compared to a DC-out MPTT controller like FlexMax 80. Also, much of Andalay’s propaganda is bogus — nobody in their right mind has 600 VDC wiring, shadows on one panel don’t affect the output of other panels, etc. Yeah, this system makes sense if all you want to do is pretend to sell electricity back to the grid (note: they might buy it, but it doesn’t really go anywhere except into heat at the first transformer), but if you actually want to USE the generated electricity, a conventional system is much more efficient.

You have FAR too many Americans on this list… are we to presume that 90% of the worlds most ethical business people live in America? Is the rest of the world that corrupt?

Aside from the obvious paean to China, I see barely any Europeans on this list – and bearing in mind Germany is the worlds biggest exporter, there are a few glaring ommissions here

Please include someone investigating the disgusting tactics of IBM, and their practices of slave labor oversees while unfairly and unjustly laying off thousands and thousands of US employees without cause and then showing up to ‘help’ the federal government by building a ‘green’ data center and taking more public money after being the company that started and fueled the outsourcing that has happened so quickly that there is no longer a middle class. They helped thousands of businesses ’steal’ retirements and then became a clearing house to send the work over seas.

Mr Norton, I’m afraid you’re mistaken. How can you discredit an entire article based on such a minor issue (which, in fact, is not an issue at all)? Ethisphere didn’t get the Chinese names backward. Chinese surnames/last names are written before given names (or your so-called “first names”). I am Chinese and can personally vouch for that.
