Ethisphere Compliance Series:

Investigative Fall-Out - Observations on Leading Practices in Remediation

Erst & Young

//Sponsored by Ernst & Young

Description:
With the broad increase in regulatory oversight over the past few years and the associated increase in the number and frequency of internal investigations (for FCPA matters, financial reporting issues and other regulatory matters), it is important for in-house legal and compliance functions to have a keen understanding of how best to timely react to investigative issues and internal control issues as they are identified during an investigation.

Frequently, it becomes clear that corrective actions and possibly employment decisions may be required early on in an investigation. In many situations it is prudent to react as quickly as possible to these types of issues and where feasible develop a proactive approach to remediation.

Discussion Topics Will Include:

  • Use of case studies to highlight common issues and appropriate remediation approach
  • Outside counsel perspectives and practical considerations for U.S. and U.S.-controlled businesses overseas
  • Practical strategies for mitigating associated regulatory and litigation risks

Faculty:

  • Zack Harmon, Partner - King & Spalding
  • Andrew Hruska, Partner- King & Spalding
  • Brian Loughman, Partner - Ernst & Young, LLP

Date: April 30, 2008, 1pm - 2 pm ET/12pm - 1pm CT/11am - 12pm - MT/10am-11am PT
