Between criticism for past missed opportunities to catch financial fraud to pushback by corporations over Sarbanes-Oxley, running the SEC is a difficult job. Cox is handling it supremely- bringing the SEC into the 21st century technologically, stepping up insider trading investigations and even showing humility when wrong (such as the bungled SEC terrorism “black list”).
