Ethisphere Magazine’s Government Contractor Ethics Program Ratings, Rankings and Methodology
Description:
Recent amendments to the Federal Acquisition Regulation- the regulations that dictate the procurement systems of the Federal Government- require all vendors with government contracts and subcontracts worth $5 million or more to have adequately funded and effective ethics and compliance systems in place.
In light of increased public scrutiny, senior members of GSA and other government officials approached Ethisphere and suggested that it would be helpful if Ethisphere provided an objective analysis of how well government contractors are doing in their efforts to reasonably detect and prevent fraudulent and unethical behavior in winning and administering federal government contracts.
With the support of new federal rules governing ethics and compliance programs for government contractors (72 Fed. Reg. 7588 and 65,873), the Ethisphere Institute recognized that this would be an opportune time to research and compile annual rankings and ratings on the ethics and compliance efforts of government contractors.
This important initiative will recognize those contractors that excel and demonstrate best practices and efforts in ethics programs based upon weighted methodologies developed by the Ethisphere Institute in conjunction with Government Contracting Ethics and Compliance Methodology Committee–a panel whose expertise in the area is both practiced and renowned in the legal, government procurement, corporate and academic worlds.
Discussion Topics Will Include:
- A summary of the amendments to the Federal Acquisition Rule and the changes yet to come
- What is expected of government contractors as a result of the changes to FAR
- The benefits of being in compliance with FAR and the ways it affects your organization
- A basic summary of the 2008 Ethisphere Government Contractor Rankings, including the final results of the research and a basic summary of the findings that will be unveiled in the Q1 2008 Edition of Ethisphere Magazine
- The methodology of the rankings
- What separates the those at the top of the list from those at the bottom, and where gaps frequently exist in the less sufficient (or nonexistent) compliance programs
- A thorough explanation of the steps a contractor can take to ensure that their organization meets–and exceeds–the expectations of the U.S. Government, as well as internal and external stakeholders
