PLI/Ethisphere Compliance Series: FCPA: Bona Fide Payments

//Sponsored by the Ethisphere Council and the Practising Law Institute

planetEthisphere, in a joint effort with the Practising Law Institute, will be hosting a 12-part Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) web series. Each session will have an issue-related focus or will be devoted to the unique challenges of FCPA compliance and enforcement in different global arenas. Ethisphere is working with PLI to secure CLE accreditation for each of these webcasts. Each webcast is available for $299 through PLI. Members of the Ethisphere Council are invited to attend the series and download an archived version of the session free of charge.

Description:
In addition to facilitating payments, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act allows for the payment of a “reasonable and bona fide expenditure” to a foreign official that is directly related to the promotion, demonstration, or explanation of products or services or the execution or performance of a contract.

As FCPA regulatory and enforcement efforts continue increase, it is increasingly important for multinationals to be aware of what is permissible and where exactly the red line is. In this spirit, PLI and Ethisphere present Part 12 of 12 of the PLI/Ethisphere FCPA Compliance Series, Bona Fide Payments Under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
