Transparency in the Supply Chain

//Sponsored by Corpedia

MNEs have extensive, often growing, chains of suppliers in emerging economies. The actual production process of many companies’ products take place in their supply chain. This is also the place where the most important sustainability impacts occur.

It is sometimes a challenge for MNE buyers to understand and improve their sustainability impact outside their in-house operations. Other companies in the supply chain - including SMEs - can and need to contribute in the creation of truly sustainable products and production processes. Improving their external impacts is often where they can make the most significant changes towards a more sustainable world.

As problems in international companies’ supply chains continue to make the headlines, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) has announced the launch of a Global Action Network for Transparency in the Supply Chain. GRI has a strong track record in working with both multinational enterprises and smaller firms in driving the sustainability agenda forward through transparency in reporting. This 1-hour interactive online symposium (with additional time reserved for a Q&A session) features leading experts walking participants through how to implement sustainability reporting throughout the supply chain building mutual trust and equal business relations between buyer and supplier.
