In our first conversation of the morning, Kathleen Franklin, Vice President, and Global Ethics & Trust Strategy Leader for the Sony Group Companies will lead a discussion on Sony’s global ethics & trust internal investigation process, including report tracking, investigation training and reporter feedback. Nikki Stern, Senior Director, Global Compliance Monitoring for the Sony Group Companies will also discuss advances in data analytics using a tool developed by Sony to harmonize data from various sources including its hotline reporting system, risk assessments, ethical culture surveys, and compliance program reviews so that this data can be analyzed collectively and utilized across the businesses for reporting and evaluation purposes. They will also discuss how Sony has used Microsoft’s Power BI to create dashboards that can easily illustrate this information for senior management and company board of directors.

After a short break, Danielle Simone, Vice President/Regulatory Compliance Counsel for the STO Building Group will lead a discussion on the importance of developing written protocols and a standardized investigative process in alignment with recent guidance from the US Department of Justice. Danielle will also discuss STO’s approach to heightening awareness of reporting channels and promptly and effectively addressing reports. STO Building Group is a commercial construction company located throughout the US, Canada, Ireland, and the UK.
