CREATe.org and Ethisphere Partner to Offer Supply Chain and Business Partner Benchmarking Tool to Business Ethics Leadership Alliance Members

New Benefit Helps Multinationals Gain Visibility into Intellectual Property (IP) Protection and Anti-Corruption Compliance Programs of Suppliers and Business Partners

Washington, DC – November 10, 2014 – The Center for Responsible Enterprise And Trade (CREATe.org), a non-governmental organization helping companies protect intellectual property and prevent corruption, and Ethisphere, the global leader in defining and advancing the standards for ethical business practices, announced today an expansion of their partnership to offer Supply Chain and Business Partner Benchmarking to members of the Business Ethics Leadership Alliance (BELA).

For multinational companies that want to share leading practices to prevent corruption, counterfeits, trade secret theft, piracy and other IP infringement with supply chain and business partners, CREATe.org is launching a special service – CREATe Leading Practices Self-Assessment with Improvement Essentials – that will be available at no cost to Ethisphere’s BELA members.

The 60- to 90-minute online assessment – available for IP protection or anti-corruption – is designed to use with a broad range of business partners to measure and improve the partners’ IP protection or anti-corruption program in key areas. The service:

  • Benchmarks the processes of third parties against globally-recognized leading practices and against other companies
  • Provides immediate access to guidance to begin improvements
  • Includes three free resources for deeper insight into key areas of the improvement process

“Third parties are a major risk area for all companies and there is growing concern in the business community about the ability to monitor and manage the risks,” said Ethisphere’s Director of Engagement Services, Laara van Loben Sels. “Our members will receive great value from CREATe.org’s self-assessment tool which will allow them to gain insights into their supply chains, improve their programs and reduce overall risk.”

BELA members will have the opportunity at no cost to engage 10 suppliers, distributors, business partners or subsidiaries in the service. CREATe’s Self-Assessment is practical and cost-effective; actionable and measurable; and scalable with improvement essentials included.

The Self-Assessment is part of the broader CREATe Leading Practices service, which includes the Self-Assessment, an independent evaluation by a CREATe expert and a guided improvement program.
