Ethisphere’s 2014 100 Most Influential People in Business Ethics Recognizing the Best Around the Globe

Annual Ranking Recognizes Individuals Who’ve Contributed to Progressing Ethical Business Globally

NEW YORK – December 4, 2014 – Ethisphere, the global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices, today announced its annual 100 Most Influential People in Business Ethics ranking. In an era of multi-billion dollar fines and an ever-increasing regulatory environment, public attention tends to focus on companies that failed in the areas of ethics and compliance. This award recognizes individuals that have made a material impact in the world of business ethics and compliance.

“The 2014 100 Most Influential People in Business Ethics, whether in corporate cultures, academia, government or NGOs, set standards for excellence,” said Ethisphere’s Publisher, Stefan Linssen. “Never-ending media and news coverage focus on the breaches and failures of businesses and individuals alike. This list recognizes those who are making an effort to move business forward with ethics and integrity.”

“Nearly a hundred years ago, my great-grandfather declared that any business that makes nothing but money is a poor business,” said Bill Ford, Executive Chairman of Ford Motor Company, a five-time honoree. “In an increasingly connected and interdependent world, operating responsibly and sustainably is more important than ever. The most successful corporations will be those that move beyond short-term thinking and narrow self-interest to make the world a better place.”

The 2014 ranking of the Most Influential are broken down into nine categories including Academics, Business Leadership, Government & Regulatory, Corporate Culture, Design & Sustainability, Philanthropy, Media & Whistleblowers, Non-Government Organization and Thought Leadership.
