Fortune 500 CEOs Dan Amos (Aflac) and Ilene S. Gordon (Ingredion) Confirmed to Speak at Ethisphere’s 10th Annual Global Ethics Summit

Highlighting their commitment to operating ethical businesses, both Aflac and Ingredion are long-term members of Ethisphere’s Business Ethics Leadership Alliance (BELA).

Ethisphere, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices, announced today that two prominent Chief Executive Officers — Dan Amos, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Aflac, and Ilene S. Gordon, Chairman, President, and CEO, Ingredion Incorporated — have committed to speak at the 10th Annual Global Ethics Summit. The Summit, hosted by Ethisphere, is the premier engagement opportunity for companies and their stakeholders interested in collaborating to enhance global commerce and share best practices. Additionally, attendees get the opportunity to connect with Chief Legal Officers/General Counsels, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer Officers, Board Members, and C-Suite executives across multiples disciplines. The two-day forum will take place March 14-15 at the Grand Hyatt in New York City.

“Today’s consumer is not only concerned about what a company does but also what it stands for, so I look forward to sharing our thoughts and to hearing from experts from around the world about building first-rate corporate ethics programs,” Mr. Amos said. “When companies in any industry take steps to improve corporate ethics, the entire business climate improves, so I am pleased that Ethisphere has invited Aflac to be part of this important discussion.”

“Throughout my career, I have been committed to employing and promoting ethical business practices, so I am excited to participate in Ethisphere’s 2018 Global Ethics Summit,” said Ms. Gordon. “The Global Ethics Summit provides a platform for leaders to share ethical practices in the same way that we continuously try to improve every other aspect of our businesses, which is essential at a time when the spotlight on corporate ethics has never been brighter.”

“Companies and their executives come to the Global Ethics Summit to connect and network — ultimately to enhance their programs and practices to ensure long-term outperformance,” said Ethisphere’s Chief Executive Officer Tim Erblich. “Further, company leaders join the Summit to connect with Chief Legal Officers/General Counsel, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer Officers, Board Members, and C-Suite executives across multiples disciplines.”

Dan Amos, the second-longest tenured CEO in the Fortune 200 behind only Warren Buffet, has been CEO of Aflac since 1990. Under his tenure, Aflac’s annual revenues have increased from $2.7 billion to more than $22.6 billion. He is also responsible for the famous Aflac Duck advertising campaign, which is widely regarded as one of the most successful campaigns in history, raising brand recognition in both the United States and Japan to historic levels. Aflac currently insures more than 50 million people worldwide and is the leading provider of voluntary insurance policies offered at the worksite in the United States. In Japan, the company insures one out of four Japanese households. Since 1995, Aflac has raised more than $118 million for the treatment and research of childhood cancer, the company’s primary philanthropic cause. Amos will serve on a keynote panel on Tuesday, March 14.

Ilene Gordon has been Chairman of the Board, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Ingredion Incorporated since May 4, 2009. She joined Ingredion from Rio Tinto Alcan where, as President and CEO of Alcan Packaging, she led a $6.5 billion global packaging business based in Paris, France. Over her 10-year tenure with Alcan and Pechiney, which was acquired by Alcan in 2003, she held various leadership positions, starting as Senior Vice President of Pechiney Plastic Packaging. Gordon will participate in a keynote session on integrity and leadership.

Highlighting their commitment to operating ethical businesses, both Aflac and Ingredion are long-term members of Ethisphere’s Business Ethics Leadership Alliance (BELA). BELA was founded with the notion that companies, regardless of industry, face many common and often complex issues in some of the most challenging regions in the world.
