The State of E&C’s AI Adoption: What’s Holding E&C Back?

Aired August 25, 2026 1:00 PM-2:00 PM ET 1 Hour(s) Virtual · Free to Attend
About This Event

Ethics and compliance leaders spent two years writing the rules for enterprise AI. A new Ethisphere and Ethena benchmark of E&C leaders at 134 organizations finds that 67% of their organizations have reached broad or advanced AI adoption, but only 22% of their own compliance teams have. Read the report here.

The reason isn’t reluctance or budget. Asked what holds them back, E&C leaders name accuracy and hallucination risk (53%) and data exposure (48%) first. Budget ranks sixth. The function that governs AI’s failure modes is the one most aware of what can go wrong, and its own adoption is priced accordingly.

Erica Salmon Byrne, Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Chair at Ethisphere, and Roxanne Bras Petraeus, CEO of Ethena, unpack the benchmark and get specific about what to do with it: where AI has earned a place in E&C work, where it hasn’t, and why the 60% of programs requiring human review of every AI output need a risk-tiered approach before agentic tools arrive. Moderated by Bill Coffin, Editor in Chief, Ethisphere.
