Ethisphere Now Accepting Applications for the 2018 World’s Most Ethical Companies® List

Deadline for submissions is Wednesday, November 8 at 11:59 pm.

New York, NY, July 13, 2017 (Newswire.com) – The Ethisphere Institute, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices, announced today that the 2018 annual Ethics Quotient® survey is now open. Ethisphere’s proprietary Ethics Quotient (EQ) survey provides an objective measurement of a company’s ethical culture, compliance programs, policies, and procedures. It is also the basis upon which companies are measured for inclusion in the annual listing of the World’s Most Ethical Companies.

Companies that are interested in initiating the process to complete the survey and potentially be listed among the 2018 World’s Most Ethical Companies can apply here. The deadline to submit the 200-question survey and supporting documentation is Wednesday, November 8, 2017. Upon submitting the application, participants will receive a confirmation email with more detailed information and next steps. Custom URLs will be delivered within 3 business days and scorecards will be sent after the 2018 honoree announcement.

“The World’s Most Ethical Companies list, now in its twelfth year, has become the most coveted industry recognition for companies that believe in the value of ethical business practices,” Ethisphere Chief Executive Officer, Timothy Erblich, explained. “In 2017, we were pleased to honor 124 companies with this designation. Companies honored on this list continue to lead by example and help others learn how acting with integrity and public purpose is not only the right thing to do but also can help build long-term, sustainable businesses.”

According to Ethisphere’s research, financial value and ethics are inexorably tied together. The analysis, which Ethisphere refers to as the Ethics Premium, demonstrates how companies that appeared on the 2017 World’s Most Ethical Companies list outperformed the US Large Cap Index over the 2015-2016 calendar years by an average of over six percent. Moreover, the World’s Most Ethical Companies honorees believe that customers, employees, investors, and regulators place a high premium on trust – while ethics and good governance are key to earning that trust.

“This will be our twelfth year honoring excellence in corporate integrity,” said Michael Byrne, General Counsel and Senior Vice President, Thought Leadership, Ethisphere. “When selecting the World’s Most Ethical Companies, we look for companies that reach beyond regulations and put in place programs that support employees in making ethical business decisions in their work around the globe.”

Companies earning the World’s Most Ethical Companies distinction in 2018 will be honored at Ethisphere’s annual World’s Most Ethical Companies Awards Dinner in New York City on March 13, 2018. The Awards dinner is followed by the annual Global Ethics Summit, a two-day forum where experts from across the world gather, along with hundreds of attendees, for informative discussions and work sessions focusing on the latest best practices in compliance and business ethics. Registrations for the annual Global Ethics Summit are now open.

Hudson Cutler Principles David Herrick and Robert Dowling Launch New Agency, Ethic One

Agency teams up with global leader in business ethics – the Ethisphere® Institute – to provide strategy and benchmarking to the World’s Most Ethical Companies®

U.S. Bank Joins Client Roster to Advance Ethics Platform

NEW YORK, July 13, 2017 – Communications industry veterans David Herrick and Robert Dowling today announced the formation of a new agency, EthicOne, to help companies turn ethics into a strategic business advantage. EthicOne provides competitive benchmarking, strategy, branding and communications services that help companies engage employees, customers, regulators and investors.

The team announced a partnership with Ethisphere, publisher of Ethisphere Magazine and the global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices. The partnership positions EthicOne as a strategic resource to the World’s Most Ethical Companies, the select group of businesses honored annually by Ethisphere for their leadership and commitment to ethical business practices.

“The importance that CEOs and boards place on ethics and culture is not being matched by the big agencies providing them with traditional consulting services,” said David Herrick, Managing Principal of EthicOne. “In partnership with Ethisphere and the World’s Most Ethical Companies, we’ll help business leaders translate their ethics into strategic business value.”

EthicOne provides clients with a full suite of ethics communications strategy and services, including: benchmarking studies; employee, customer and stakeholder communications strategies; and best practice sharing across the World’s Most Ethical Companies community. The agency brings together global ethics, publishing, strategy and brand communications expertise to nurture and grow ethics leadership positions.

“Never before has ethical business leadership been so important to a company’s valuation,” said Timothy Erblich, CEO, Ethisphere. “The World’s Most Ethical Companies are in a better position to attract employee talent, engage customers and demonstrate leadership to regulators, investors and partners. Our relationship with EthicOne will pair some of the communications industry’s most respected strategists with our world-renowned experts in ethics benchmarking, standards and practices to help companies harness the full value of their ethics leadership.”

EthicOne also announced the addition of U.S. Bank as a client. U.S. Bank was recently honored for the third-consecutive-year as a World’s Most Ethical Company, and is the largest U.S.-based financial institution to make the list.

“We are extremely proud of our employees and the strong culture of ethics we have built at U.S. Bank,” said Dana Ripley, Chief Communications Officer, U.S. Bank. “We are excited to work with EthicOne to leverage trust into a broader strategic platform that is meaningful to our customers and differentiates us in the financial services industry.”

Ethisphere Announces WilmerHale as Supporting Partner to the Business Ethics Leadership Alliance

WilmerHale will help support the BELA community via sharing thought leadership and insights into critical ethics and compliance issues facing multinational companies today.

New York, NY , July 10, 2017 (Newswire.com) – Ethisphere today announced that WilmerHale will become a Supporting Partner of the Business Ethics Leadership Alliance (“BELA”), a membership community of multinational companies focused on sharing best practices with one another and developing best-in-class ethics & compliance programs.

As BELA’s first Supporting Partner organization, WilmerHale will engage with, and contribute to, the BELA community, which is comprised of some of the most respected global companies, including Boeing, Walmart, GE, and Microsoft, to share the firm’s insights and experience around global regulatory trends and compliance issues facing these organizations.

“The regulatory landscape around the world continues to evolve rapidly as do best practices in corporate ethics and compliance”

DAVID OGDEN, PARTNER AND CHAIR, GOVERNMENT AND REGULATORY LITIGATION PRACTICE, WILMERHALE

“We’re excited to include WilmerHale as part of the BELA membership group, and to share the firm’s highly valued insights on international issues with the BELA member companies,” said Stefan Linssen, Chief Content Officer at Ethisphere. “WilmerHale is a widely respected law firm with a vast body of experience and knowledge in this space. It will certainly be a great asset to the BELA community.”

WilmerHale previously participated in BELA programs when David Ogden, a partner and chair of the firm’s government and regulatory litigation practice, delivered a presentation in 2015 on the False Claims Act to an annual gathering in New York of compliance officers and general counsel from BELA member companies. Ogden is a former Deputy Attorney General, the second highest post in the U.S. Department of Justice.

“The regulatory landscape around the world continues to evolve rapidly as do best practices in corporate ethics and compliance,” Ogden said. “BELA provides a vital forum for business leaders across industries to stay abreast of those changes while sharing their own companies’ approaches and experience.  I look forward to being part of such an important endeavor.” Besides WilmerHale’s addition as a BELA Supporting Partner, Elbit Systems, Salesforce.com, Ingram Micro and Crawford & Co., also recently joined the community.
