Ethisphere Launches The Sphere, a Platform Providing Access to Leading Ethics and Compliance Data Including Practices of the World’s Most Ethical Companies®

For the First Time, Ethics, Compliance, and Legal Teams Can Easily Benchmark against the Practices of Companies with Exceptional Programs, Identify Gaps, and Access a Wealth of Insights and Resources to Guide Improvements.

Phoenix, AZ – June 22, 2022 – Ethisphere, a global leader in defining and advancing standards of ethical business practices, announced the launch of The Sphere, a platform enabling ethics and compliance leaders to efficiently benchmark practices against peers, the World’s Most Ethical Companies, and leading international guidance.

“Since launching the World’s Most Ethical Companies recognition, we have had thousands of requests for access to data highlighting the practices of top companies. That opportunity has arrived,” said Ethisphere President Erica Salmon Byrne. “Investors, Boards and senior leadership are demanding insights into how programs compare, how to align with guidance, and the best path to improvement. The Sphere answers those questions – on demand and at any time.”

The Sphere features data covered in Ethisphere’s proprietary 2022 Ethics Quotient®, the assessment used for the World’s Most Ethical Companies process. It includes more than 200 data points on culture; environmental and social practices; ethics and compliance activities; governance; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and initiatives that support a strong value chain.

“At Sony, we place great importance on the use of peer data to help inform us about our program and provide context to key stakeholders,” said Kathleen Franklin, Global Ethics & Compliance Strategy Leader, Sony Corporation of America. “The Sphere allows us to view peer data on key issues, and gain insight into the approaches of other leading companies.”

Companies have identified many uses for the information in The Sphere. Leaders can review the data, recommendations, guidance, and resources to help build a business case for new initiatives; show leadership how peer organizations address key topics; prepare for the World’s Most Ethical Companies application process; or inform program priorities.

There are two options for benchmarking. The most comprehensive option is to take the full Ethics Quotient (EQ) assessment, which will enable benchmarking against the entire data set across all topic areas. Organizations also have the option to start benchmarking quickly with the one-hour EQ ‘Essentials’ assessment, a targeted subset focused on core ethics and compliance practices. Either option allows access to any data point, and organizations receive expert insights and curated resources aligned to the data. Organizations that applied for the 2022 World’s Most Ethical Companies recognition already have data ready in the system, enabling immediate benchmarking against the full data set, or to benchmark peers.

“Ethisphere has the most extensive data set for compliance program benchmarking, covering both the structural components and tactical implementation of the program,” added Salmon Byrne. “To turn data insights into action, The Sphere also provides expert guidance mapped to each datapoint, and a wealth of improvement resources, including company examples, sample policies, relevant reports and more.”

Users can download data charts in multiple formats, including exporting raw data so that you can modify presentation to meet your brand guidelines. Reports can be easily built in The Sphere and exported as a single PDF for sharing. Data and resources are updated continuously and can be revisited whenever needs arise for on-demand, presentation-ready reporting to share with leadership.
