Discussions on Artificial Intelligence, Diversity, Culture of Purpose, and Influence of the General Counsel to Highlight Ethisphere’s 10TH Annual Global Ethics Summit

New York, NY – January 4, 2018 – Ethisphere, a global leader in defining and advancing standards of ethical business practices, today announced its agenda for the exclusive 10th Annual Global Ethics Summit. The Summit will take place March 14 and15 at the Grand Hyatt in New York City and will focus on major themes influencing business integrity at a multi-national level.

The Global Ethics Summit is the premier event where CEOs, Board Members, Chief Legal Officers/General Counsels, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officers, and other business influencers representing a diverse set of experiences gather to share best practices in building ethical businesses and continuously improving corporate behavior

This year’s agenda extends beyond traditional areas of focus with plenary sessions that include:

  • Artificial Intelligence: All in on A.I.? The Vision for Business and Compliance Transformation
  • Culture, Purpose, and Values as Companies Face New Disruptions
  • The General Counsel’s Influence at the Executive Table
  • Diversity as a Culture and Performance Imperative

“The Global Ethics Summit provides a great opportunity for senior- level executives to exchange ideas and share best practices about compliance issues in an ever-evolving business climate,” said David Howard, Corporate Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Litigation, Competition Law, and Compliance at Microsoft. “No single company has all the answers. I look forward to this forum to share some of the innovative things we’re doing at Microsoft and to learn from other legal and compliance professionals how we can best do business in a way that builds and maintains trust with our customers.”

Gayle Sheppard

“Ethics will play an important role as it is foundational to the design and development of artificial intelligence systems,” said Gayle Sheppard (pictured right), Vice President, New Technology Group and General Manager, Saffron AI Group, Intel Corporation. “In working with and collaborating with others, such as my panelists from GE and Microsoft, one of the things I hope to learn from them at the Summit is how they are thinking about ethics and how they are building it into their human systems and their machine systems.”

At the 10th Annual Global Ethics Summit, attendees will have the opportunity to network with close to 500 peers and influential leaders representing globally innovative companies across a highly diverse set of industries. A 75+ member faculty of some of the most forward-thinking corporate leaders will anchor an interactive dialogue of sessions designed to inspire better practices and offer practical guidance to overcome the ethical hurdles in the global business environment.

Some of the companies serving among the faculty leadership include Microsoft, 3M, Walmart, Aflac, Dell, GE, Ingredion Incorporated, Kimberly-Clark, Intel, Leidos, U.S. Bancorp, L’Oréal, JLL, Eli Lilly, Dun & Bradstreet, PepsiCo, L3 Technologies, Schnitzer Steel, Emergent BioSolutions, Voya Financial, Louis Berger, ManpowerGroup, PwC, Whirlpool Corporation, Praxair, and more.

Jay Jorgensen

“Ethisphere’s Summits are more valuable to Walmart every year,” said Jay Jorgensen (pictured right), Executive Vice President and Global Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer for Wal-Mart Stores Inc. “As companies are developing cutting-edge practices and technology to enhance their compliance and ethics program, it’s increasingly important to stay current with the world’s leaders in ethics and compliance. This venue gives us the opportunity to do just that.”

“Each year the Global Ethics Summit continues to connect companies and their leadership in ways that help transform integrity from pure discussion point into measurable action,” said Kevin McCormack, Ethisphere’s Vice President of Global Thought Leadership and Programs. “The Summit has really evolved into a mechanism for change and collective action that enables company leadership to put values, culture, and ethics at the very center of the conversation and leave with true purpose behind their performance, market impact, and social consciousness. This shared experience is an uncommon level of connectivity and inspiration for the company leaders that join us.”
