About This Event

Join us in Oshkosh, Wisconsin for an in-person roundtable hosted by our friends at Oshkosh Corporation. We will hear from Oshkosh, Kohler, and Ethisphere on top-of-mind issues facing compliance professionals today.

To begin our session, Oshkosh’s Jennifer Eyler, VP, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer, Kristin Manney, Ethics & Compliance Director, and Mary Simonis, Ethics & Compliance Manager, will discuss Beyond Mandatory Training: Leveraging Leadership to Drive Code Engagement. We will hear how Oshkosh Corp. has increased engagement with their code of conduct over time, with practical takeaways and new ideas for us in the room. Come ready to share your own experiences and thoughts, as well as ask questions.

Next up, we will cover: Checking the Box Doesn’t Always Get It Done: Observations from E&C Investigations In this session, Eric Jorgenson, Director of Data and Services at Ethisphere, will highlight both good and challenging practices he’s experienced when assessing “speak up” initiatives and investigation processes. We will deep-dive into the areas in which companies need to look beyond “checking the box” and create intentional, robust practices. From communications and education to case intakes, investigator workflow and training, to post-investigation activities such as retaliation monitoring, root cause analysis, and discipline calibration. This discussion will get your thinking about your own program: what is effective, what is checking the box, and what should you avoid.

Finally, we will hear from Kohler’s Susie Wagner, Sr. Compliance Manager:
Rebuilding Third Party Risk Management at a Global Organization

Third-party risk doesn’t stand still, and neither should our approach to managing it. As vendor ecosystems grow more complex, regularly revisiting and strengthening your TPRM framework isn’t just good practice, it’s a business imperative. In this session, Susie will share how Kohler revamped their TPRM program from the ground up, shifting towards a more risk-based, scalable, and sustainable framework. Rather than applying a one-size-fits all model, the program was designed to align oversight, due diligence, and monitoring activities with the level of risk each third party poses to the organization.

Attendees will gain insight into how Kohler:

  • Re-established clear governance and accountability across the third-party lifecycle
  • Designed and implemented a risk-tiering methodology to classify vendors as high, medium, or low risk to allow more prioritization and oversight
  • Simplified and standardized processes to improve adoption across a global organization
  • Addressed legacy gaps while building a program that is flexible enough to adapt to future risks

While Kohler’s TPRM rebuild is still in process, Susie will highlight key challenges encountered so far during the rebuild—including data quality.

*Arrival and networking begin at 12:45pm, with roundtable content from 1-4pm. Please “stick around” until 4:45pm for a post-roundtable reception.*
