Members of Business Ethics Leadership Alliance Headline All-Star Faculty at the 2019 Global Ethics Summit

Attendees to Hear from Established and Invested Global Leaders from AT&T, Arm, The Coca-Cola Company, Microsoft, Bayer, Infosys, Visa, and more

Ethisphere, global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices today announced the addition of leading General Counsels, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officers, and Chief Communication Officers to the executive leadership profiles headlining many of the sessions at the upcoming 11th Annual Global Ethics Summit March 13-14 in New York City. The Summit is Ethisphere’s premier annual event connecting the most respected and diverse class of company leaders, inspiring company integrity to improve business performance. Studies, including data from Ethisphere’s annual Ethics Premium research, shows how organizations with a strong ethical culture regularly outperform their market peers—underscoring the value of prioritizing a strong, innovative ethics program in an ever-changing business environment.

In 2019, Ethisphere will expand upon its tradition of offering one of the most compelling platforms for leadership connectivity and diverse, pan-industry voices at the 2019 Global Ethics Summit, which will feature faculty members representing the Business Ethics Leadership Alliance (BELA) community. Founded by Ethisphere, BELA is a 250-member strong globally recognized organization of leading companies interested in sharing best practices in governance, risk management, compliance, and ethics.

“The companies that comprise our BELA community have essentially self-selected to be at the forefront of ethics and compliance program improvement. Each member, regardless of company scale or industry positioning, understands that they cannot address the complexities in the global business environment alone,” said Kevin McCormack, Ethisphere’s Vice President for Global Thought Leadership and Programs. “BELA members consistently seek out their peers with diverse experience and disciplines and apply this knowledge-sharing in very practical ways, making their participation at the Global Ethics Summit extraordinarily valuable. The community excels at taking very purpose-driven approaches which enable better performance and embeds leading practices into the overall business strategy. The impact and vision during this Summit is of a very rare kind, and a result of a very dedicated involvement from across the BELA community. At a time where the public has increasingly put their trust in the actions and voices of companies, our BELA community—and the entire Summit delegation for that matter—has created more actionable methods for improving corporate integrity.”

At this year’s Summit, featured faculty of more than 75 executives will include robust representation from BELA member companies, which comprises members from 30 industries headquartered in 15 different countries. Driven by a global desire to advance integrity, BELA has also expanded to South Asia and includes a community of over 20 select multinationals who have taken on a leadership role in inspiring best practices in ethics, integrity, and anti-corruption efforts across India and South Asia. Among the featured faculty members from the BELA community who will contribute to a selection of diverse and forward-thinking conversations at the Summit are:

  • Diana L. Sands, Senior Vice President, Office of Internal Governance and Administration, The Boeing Company
  • David S. Huntley, Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer, AT&T Inc.
  • Inderpreet Sawhney, Group General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer, Infosys
  • Leonard Shen, Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer, Visa, Inc.
  • Jeannine D’Amico Lemker, Assistant General Counsel, Office of Legal Compliance, Microsoft Corporation
  • Joseph Moan, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer and Associate General Counsel, The Coca-Cola Company
  • Stacey Hanna, General Counsel, Ethics & Compliance, Lonza
  • Paul Gennaro, Senior Vice President, Brand and Corporate Communications, and Chief Brand and Communications Officer, Voya Financial

These additions are among the standout leadership joining a faculty of over 75 speakers from some of the most transformational companies around the world, with plans to address organizational character and ethical values across global stakeholders.

“Doing things the right way builds trust. Consumers want to buy products and services from companies they trust. Investors only invest in companies they trust. And top talent seeks employment with companies they trust,” AT&T’s Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer David S. Huntley said. “Our BELA membership affords us the opportunity to exchange ideas and share transformational practices that help us continue to build this trust. We could not be more pleased to be part of strengthening global business ethics through our conversations at this Summit.”

“As a founding member of Ethisphere’s BELA South Asia Chapter, I am thrilled to represent Infosys and share the unique perspectives we have gained as a community and throughout my career in compliance-related fields,” said Infosys Group General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer Inderpreet Sawhney. “As a multinational company with a global reach, we understand the value of operating an ethical company. The Global Ethics Summit will provide a window into the minds of great compliance professionals from around the world, and I am honored to be a part of this expert faculty.”

“The pharmaceutical trade is among the most heavily regulated industries in the world, with no margin for error when it comes to complying with laws and regulations,” said Thomas Pfennig, Head of Compliance at Bayer AG. “We have tremendous confidence in our internal compliance management system to embed integrity across our company. At the same time, we strive for continuous improvement and innovations in our area to support our leading business practices. The BELA community is highly valuable when it comes to convening leaders and offering forums like the Global Ethics Summit, where peer-to-peer connections serve as an inspiring sounding board for taking our efforts to the next level. Each year, I am humbled to be part of a community that supports world-class experts and the ways in which I can contribute to trusted conversations, data-driven insights, and measurable tactics for further improvement.”

Now in its 11th year, the Summit is expected to attract more than 500 attendees from an expansive set of industries and will offer participants the opportunity to engage in candid and interactive discussions.
