Ethisphere Launches New Cybersecurity Resources to Arm Global Companies With a Sophisticated Assessment of Information Risk and Protection
NEW YORK, May 9, 2018 – Ethisphere, a global leader in defining and advancing standards of ethical business practices, today announced the unveiling of a resource portfolio designed to offer guidance to global companies on assessing and improving their cybersecurity programs.
According to data from the 2018 Ethisphere’s World’s Most Ethical Companies® survey, attention to cybersecurity is universally strong and growing at a pace that often exceeds the program maturity of the company. Respondents report that corporate boards are demanding more insight into information security programs and more rigorous risk assessment.
In an effort to help companies measure and improve their programs, Ethisphere, along with its partner CREATe Compliance, has unveiled new cybersecurity resources, including the CREATe Leading Practices for Cybersecurity service, which enables companies to assess the maturity of cybersecurity programs against the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and its guidance. Ethisphere has also released an infographic featuring data about how top companies are addressing cybersecurity with boards and employees, along with articles and a newly recorded webcast highlighting best practice approaches to protecting critical corporate information.
“In the wake of several highly publicized cyber attacks occurring in the past several years, it has become apparent that companies need to take serious measures to protect their assets and those of their valued customers who entrust them with their personal information,” said Erica Salmon Byrne, Executive Director of Ethisphere’s Business Ethics Leadership Alliance (BELA). “BELA members and other companies interested in staying ahead of the curve to avoid the next great corporate crisis in the form of a costly data breach can use the CREATe Leading Practices service to gain powerful guidance to better understand the strengths and gaps in their current cybersecurity programs.”
“Compliance and ethics professionals are increasingly involved in cybersecurity—ensuring regulations are being met, building coalitions across companies and educating senior management and boards about the maturity of programs. These resources offer valuable insights into best practice approaches for embedding cybersecurity across an enterprise,” stated Pamela Passman, CEO, CREATe Compliance, and Vice-Chair, Ethisphere.
In March of 2018, Ethisphere combined with CREATe Compliance, a business that focuses on enabling enterprises to improve management of internal and third-party risks. This combination brings expanded expertise, data and services, enabling Ethisphere to expand its platform to offer a wider range of innovative services. As a result of this new alliance, the BELA community of companies will receive a complimentary cybersecurity maturity assessment, an offer available until June 15, 2018. Using the CREATe Leading Practices for Cybersecurity service, companies can assess and improve their cybersecurity approach, either for internal use across a company or within their supply chain and business partners. Aligned with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework, the service provides a practical methodology for implementing a roadmap for improvement.
