On October 18, French building materials manufacturer Lafarge S.A. and its Syrian subsidiary pled guilty to criminal charges of conspiring to provide material support to the terrorist groups ISIS and the al-Nusrah Front in Syria from 2013 to 2014. Upon pleading guilty, the defendants were sentenced to probation and to criminal fines and forfeitures amounting to nearly $800 million.
