Shelby Carr
Shelby Carr, CPA, is the Vice President of Finance at Ethisphere, where she leads the Finance & Accounting function with a focus on building a high-impact team that drives strategic decision-making. She brings deep expertise in SaaS financial planning and analysis, accounting, and auditing. Before Ethisphere, Shelby progressed through FP&A Manager to Senior Manager to Director of Finance & Operations at Inhabit IQ, a software company. Prior to that, she was Manager of Internal Audit at Halma, a global life-saving technology group, and earlier in her career worked at PYA, an audit and assurance firm, rising from Audit Intern to Manager. Shelby holds a Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
David Shreffler
David Shreffler is the Vice President of Engineering at Ethisphere, leading the technology team responsible for building and maintaining Ethisphere’s software products and data platforms. Before Ethisphere, David served as Director of Engineering at Guardify, where he led the engineering team developing innovative security solutions, and as Director of Web Development at Ervin & Smith, where he led the creation of cutting-edge web applications. He holds a B.S. from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and an M.Ed. in Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Julia Petre
Julia Petre is the Head of Marketing at Ethisphere, joining the team in January 2024 to lead core marketing execution across demand generation, product marketing, and content programs. She brings deep expertise in SaaS marketing, email marketing, customer acquisition, and lifecycle marketing. Julia spent nearly a decade at Return Path (later acquired and rebranded as Validity), rising from Account Coordinator to Senior Director of Product Marketing. She then moved to LRN as Senior Director of Global Product Marketing, where she and CEO Tom Bubeck overlapped, giving her a strong foundation in the ethics and compliance space before arriving at Ethisphere. Colleagues have described her as a role model leader with a clear vision, the ability to pivot quickly, and a commitment to excellence. Julia holds a B.A. in English and Communications from Pace University.
Matt Spitzer
Matthew Spitzer is a Vice President of Sales at Ethisphere, where he leads enterprise go-to-
market strategy and supports revenue growth across new and existing business. He focuses on
aligning sales execution with company priorities, strengthening operational processes, and
partnering cross-functionally to enhance market impact.
Matthew brings over a decade of experience across enterprise SaaS, education technology, and
mission-driven organizations. Prior to Ethisphere, he held leadership roles at ChurnZero and
Rosetta Stone, where he led enterprise sales teams and supported expansion into new markets.
Earlier in his career, he worked in business development and partnerships at the Center for Open
Science and several other software companies, contributing to the launch and growth of new
programs and initiatives.
He is known for a data-driven and accountable leadership style, with a focus on execution, team
development, and continuous improvement. He is particularly focused on integrating AI-first
tools into go-to-market strategy—leveraging automation, data, and emerging technologies to
improve team efficiency, refine sales tactics, and elevate customer engagement. Matthew holds a
Master’s degree from the University of Virginia.
