Ethisphere to Open 2021 World’s Most Ethical Companies® Application Process on August 7, 2020

August 4 Webcast Will Provide Guidance and Insights into Changes to the 2021 Ethics Quotient® and Application as well as the Value of Going through the Process

Ethisphere, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices, announced today that the 2021 World’s Most Ethical Companies evaluation process will open Friday, August 7, 2020.

As the assessment changes year to year, companies considering participating in this year’s application process are invited to register for the upcoming instructive webcast “Guide to Applying: 2021 World’s Most Ethical Companies” on Tuesday, August 4, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. EDT by visiting https://events.ethisphere.com/events/webcast-guide-to-applying-2021-worlds-most-ethical-companies/

The webcast will cover application materials and timing, 2021 program and process changes, updated guidelines and resources, and the value of going through the process. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive instructions about requesting a confidential assessment link and application guide post-event.

“Since announcing our inaugural list of World’s Most Ethical Companies in 2007, there has never been a year where ethical leadership has mattered as much as it does today,” said Ethisphere CEO Tim Erblich. “Companies around the globe are stepping up and demonstrating action and a commitment to a greater good. The World’s Most Ethical Companies continue to outperform financially over the long term, proving the adage, doing well by doing good.”

The application process serves as an operating framework to capture and codify examples set by leading organizations across industries and geographies. All applicants receive benchmark data comparing their overall score and scores in all five categories of the application to the honorees’ aggregate scores. The data obtained from the application provides a holistic assessment of where companies stand in their programs that leads to practical decision-making and the development of best practices.

This year, applicants can expect simplified documentation requirements, a more user-friendly process, and a streamlined questionnaire, which includes an expanded set of questions on adapting and responding to the global health pandemic, environmental, social, and governance factors, safety, equity, and inclusion and social justiceGrounded in Ethisphere’s proprietary Ethics Quotient®, the World’s Most Ethical Companies assessment process includes more than 200 data points, allowing global companies to measure and continuously improve their programs.

The deadline to submit the completed assessment and supporting documentation is Friday, November 13, 2020, at 11:59 p.m.

“At Ethisphere, we continue to listen, incorporate feedback from our community of leaders, and use the guidance of the methodology committee to enable year-over-year growth in terms of how the designation can help companies improve their approach to building and maintaining an organizational framework and holistic program that consistently prioritizes best practices—particularly during the challenging times in which we live,” said Jodie Fredericksen, Senior Counsel at Ethisphere. “While we have streamlined the application process this year, the integrity and authenticity of the data remain intact.”

The 2021 designation will be the 15th annual recognition of companies demonstrating their dedication to advancing integrity while enhancing business performance. In 2020, 131 honorees were recognized, representing 21 countries and 50 industries. Click here to see a full list of the 2020 World’s Most Ethical Companies honorees.
